Beverly Kennedy, founder and former Director of Technology and Research of Diversity Planning Institute, Inc. [D.P.I., Inc.] and CEO & President of Kennedy & Associates, Inc., [A W /MBE certified firm] had the vision to bring a solution for leaking roofs to south florida’s business and neighborhood areas that would relish the benefits of savings financially and environmentally.
What’s even more relevant is a geographic area that would gain economically; adding more opportunity for better paying jobs if the training and research center was there.
This in turn would motivate government endorsement.
Also, Kennedy & Associates, Inc. has graciously donated the use of all its board of directors’ time and talents to D.P.I., Inc.
(including all research, office equipment and supplies)
plus pays the overhead expenses of D.P.I., Inc. to further the goals of implementing a new industry in South Florida, promoting “Greens” Buildings, dedicated to the conservation of energy thru the use of Energy Star ™ Roofing and wall coatings that protects the environment and water resources.
The process of using this new technology for South Florida saves the risk to the health of the maintenance workers, yet stops leaks, prevents mildew and reduces the cost of electricity an average of 31% a year of a school board, hospital district or other governmental agency buildings.
The endorsements of the EPA and the Federal Department of Energy [D.O.E.] coupled with a FPL rebate makes this goal attainable.
Diversity Planning Institute, Inc. technology and research work was established April, 2001 to educate South Florida. The Community Affairs Department of the State of Florida, accepted the research of Director, Beverly Kennedy, October, 2002 and deemed the asphalt a hazardous material the early part of March 2003.
